RPO Mthembu and Partners aims to fulfill an active role in establishing continuous funding, programmes and portals that will secure the empowerment of the youth in South Africa. The aim is to provide infrastructure for the emotional wellbeing of the youth in even the most remote areas of the country. We wish to cultivate emotionally strong youth members that will develop themselves to become skilled and contribute towards the alleviation of poverty, youth unemployment and to increase enterprise development within the country and within their own communities.


In South Africa:


  • The youth represents 2% of the total population of 52.9 million
  • Nearly 42% of the young under 30 are unemployed
  • 43% of young adults will not complete their education
  • 2 million of the South African young are HIV positive
  • 122 000 Child Run Households
  • 50% of South African children will be abused before the age of 18
  • 40 to 50% of reported rapes are on children below the age of 18
  • About 1 in 4 HIV infections are youth ages 13 to 24
  • 1 in 3 girls and 1 in 5 boys will be raped before the age of 18
  • 1 in 4 teenagers struggle with drug or alcohol abuse
